Dear Roadrunners family,

Bond funding provided some exciting improvements at Richmond Elementary School, which were completed over the summer!

Thanks to voters around the district who approved the 2018 bond, more than $2 million was invested in improvements at Richmond. The upgrades we received over the summer helped to increase safety and security, improve the music space and much more.

Front entry renovations
Richmond received renovations to the front office to increase visibility of the main entry from the office. This improvement allows office staff to monitor the entrance and provide service to visitors within a secured check-in space before granting them access into the building.

Music room improvements
The old computer lab was converted into a new music room, providing new and modern space to support music. The new space has improved acoustics for increased sound control, which is important for the music environment.

Additional improvements
Other improvements included plumbing improvements, seismic strengthening, intercom system upgrades and electronic badge access system upgrades. We also replaced the old portable classrooms with newer ones that provide a more comfortable learning environment.

Information about other schools that received or will receive improvements in the 2018 bond program can be found at salkeiz.k12.or.us/projects-status.

We truly benefit from the bond-funded improvements provided here at Richmond. Thank you so much for supporting our students, and thank you, voters!

Sincerely,
Principal Linda Dougherty
